On North Prospect Street in Burlington, where three people were shot on Saturday night, police lights flicker. According to police, about 6:30 p.m., they received calls reporting gunfire. Two individuals were discovered hurt at the spot, while a third man was discovered hurt not far away. According to Channel Three, the tree victims are Palestinians.
The men are reportedly receiving treatment for non-fatal wounds. No gunman has been located or taken into custody by the police. The area of North Prospect between Loomis Street and Brookes Avenue has been blocked off. A few policemen scan the neighbourhood at 8:30 p.m., flashing flashlights in yards and between homes. A Burlington Police officer positions spotlights to draw attention to the location.
The shooter remains unidentified. Cars and pedestrians are asked to stay away from the area by the police. The investigations is at the preliminary stage. According to Journalist and policy analyst Mariam Barghouti, two of the victims have been identified as Hisham Awartani and Kenan Abdelhamid. Two Palestinian students have been shot in Vermont. (4,386 posts)We drive through Burlington several times a year on our way to visit our son in Maine. We always stop there for lunch and have always felt peaceful there. This is just heartbreaking.

(13,688 posts)This is devastating .....My son went to school/college New England Culinary Institute in Montpelier and going to Burlington for visiting friends was always part of our many trips to Vermont...He met his now wife there who is 1/2 Palestinian there...it was safe then...now...I am inshock.
