10. My take: Trump is now getting daily intelligence briefs, He knows more than any of us. It is likely that

he has information about impending hostage release being orchestrated by Biden to be announced before he becomes President.

It is not in his interest to do anything while Biden is still President and help Biden take the credit But if my hunch is correct, he has no control over it. So he is bluffing and making it appear as if his threats had anything to do with hostages being released before he takes charge.

It's an old trick: if you know something is about to happen but nobody else does, you can make it appear as if you caused it to happen.
