BBC: The Bin Laden Conspiracy
Have we been told the truth about Bin Laden's death?
By Jane Corbin | BBC News | 17 June 2015
A recent controversial account of the death of Osama Bin Laden claims there was a conspiracy at the highest levels of the US and Pakistani government to assassinate him.
I have been investigating al-Qaeda and Bin Laden for the BBC for nearly two decades - a quest which has taken me from the caves of Tora Bora to the high-walled Pakistani compound where he met his bloody end. So is there any truth in this latest theory?
Seymour Hersh, a veteran US investigative journalist, has embarrassed US governments before with revelations about the My Lai massacre in Vietnam and abuses at Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq.
He laid low for several weeks after a mauling in much of the American press but eventually agreed to speak to me about his article published in the London Review of Books.
Mr Hersh claims that Pakistani intelligence - the ISI - were holding Bin Laden prisoner for nearly six years in the garrison town of Abbottabad...SNIP

The re-enactment parts included us special forces finding dvds of A New Pearl Harbour, as if watching things like that link you to bin laden. It was all very propaganda-like, made for annoying viewing, and made me dislike the BBC somewhat, what with this and the "conspiracy Road trip" bollocks. Not worth the half hour, I'd suggest. Link
The CIA's plot to kill Osama bin Laden: was it a conspiracy?
By Michael Hogan | UK Telegraph | 17 Jun 2015
In May 2011, when a team of US Navy SEALs stormed a compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan and killed the worlds most wanted terror target, it became a definitive moment in Barack Obamas presidency. Seymour Hersh Details Explosive Story on Bin Laden Killing & Responds to White House, Media Backlash
Democracy Now | May 12, 2015
Four years after U.S. forces assassinated Osama bin Laden, Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative reporter Seymour Hersh has published an explosive piece claiming much of what the Obama administration said about the attack was wrong. Hersh claims at the time of the U.S. raid, bin Laden had been held as a prisoner by Pakistani intelligence since 2006. Top Pakistani military leaders knew about the operation and provided key assistance.
Contrary to U.S. claims that it located bin Laden by tracking his courier, a former Pakistani intelligence officer identified bin Ladens whereabouts in return for the bulk of a $25 million U.S. bounty. Questions are also raised about whether bin Laden was actually buried at sea, as the U.S. claimed. Hersh says instead the Navy SEALs threw parts of bin Ladens body into the Hindu Kush mountains from their helicopter. The White House claims the piece is "riddled with inaccuracies." Hersh joins us to lay out his findings and respond to criticism from government officials and media colleagues
