I had a busy dream last night
It started off in my current house. I was back in my guestroom, and I saw a flashy red car go by pretty fast on the next street. The I saw a carload of cops following it. Their car was a vintage convertible, looked like it was from the 1930's. My neighbor appeared, and wondered what I was looking at. I was able to see another street (love the fantasy of dreams) and saw the red car again. I told her to watch for the cop car and it appeared. We decided to go out to where her husband worked and ask him what was happening. I thought we were going out and coming back, but we ended up stopping at an ice cream restaurant on the other side of town. Many of my husband's relatives were there, his older brother, sister-in-law, his sister's daughter and son, and many other people. No social distancing. The cops came in, looking for the guys driving the red car. The cop in charge was an older guy and he wanted our nephew to step outside with him. I yelled "No! He's my nephew!" The cop looked at me, and everyone else was also looking at me. The cop said, "Did you know you were going to wake up this morning, and you were going to be so happy when you knew your nephew wasn't a suspect? I just want him to bite into an apple so we can compare bite marks." I felt calmer and my nephew went out with the cop. My nephew is in the Army in waking life. In the dream, he had come home on leave, and was in his combat fatigues. My brother-in-law had a look of surprised respect on his face. While we waited for my nephew to return, someone else in the crowd came over and started talking to me. She wasn't social distancing and didn't have a mask. I realized I didn't have a mask, and felt like crying. My daughter was there, and she gave me a mask from her work. It was clear hard plastic, with black elastic loops. I had a lot of trouble figuring out how to put it on, and as I worked on it, the dream faded and I woke up.
I feel like that dream was my social event for the 4th. There was so much detail and so many familiar faces. I had been keeping a dream jouranl, but it is on a computer that needs to go to the shop, and it hasn't got there. I haven't started a new one, and I should.
