New studies: ‘Conspiracy theorists’ sane; government dupes crazy, hostile

snip/

Perhaps because their supposedly mainstream views no longer represent the majority, the anti-conspiracy commenters often displayed anger and hostility: “The research… showed that people who favoured the official account of 9/11 were generally more hostile when trying to persuade their rivals.”

"On the whole," says Dr, Dixie Wrekt, "Conspiracy theorists demonstrate an unwillingness to accept any fact that runs counter to whatever silly theory they espouse. Indeed, they like to think they are somehow smarter than everyone else and don't need facts to be right."

....bullshit. Read the original study, it says no such thing:

http://www.frontiersin.org/Personality_Science_and_Individual_Differences/10.3389/fpsyg.2013.00409/full

It does say however:

"Conventionalist comments (M = 2.08, SD = 1.02) were significantly more hostile than conspiracist comments (M = 1.44, SD = 0.79), t(2172) = 16.22, p < 0.001 (see Table 1). "

Figures. Lash out in helplessness and denial.

Here's Kevin Barrett's article:
http://www.presstv.ir/detail/2013/07/12/313399/conspiracy-theorists-vs-govt-dupes/

And, since "truther" Barrett "forgot" to link to it, here's the actual study that he lies about:
http://www.frontiersin.org/personality_science_and_individual_differences/10.3389/fpsyg.2013.00409/abstract

Since you parrotted one of Barrett's lies in the title of your OP, please quote the part of the study that says "‘Conspiracy theorists’ sane; government dupes crazy, hostile."

People who support the official fairy tale are always aggressive and nearly 90% of their "arguments" are just a bunch of name calling and patronizing bullshit such as "I'm much more intelligent than you"... no substance at all.

... is that "truthers" aren't very truthful. I challenge you to link to a single thread that matches your description of what goes on here. Then, I will point to some of the substantive responses to your posts which you seem to have missed.

"People who support the official fairy tale are always aggressive..."

I imagine the corollary is also true: People who deny the official report imply that those who do believe it, merely imagine a fairy tale, and in saying so, imply through patronizing language they are more intelligent... without much substance either.

(It's pretty much six of one, half a dozen of the other in this case; however, please insert distinction without a difference here to rationalize the very thing you indicted others for)
