A long read, but good.

It wasn’t what she imagined last year when she joined Kappa Kappa Gamma at the University of Wyoming, becoming the first transgender woman in the state to be inducted into a sorority. She thought she’d finally found sisterhood and a place to belong after years of shame and loneliness.

Instead, she became a target.

Right-wing pundits portrayed her on national television as a predator — as a perverted man who faked his way into a sorority to leer at women. Death threats followed. Strangers began stalking her. Police assigned extra patrols to the sorority house.

But the most hurtful accusations came this past spring. That’s when Artemis discovered members of her sorority — seven sisters out of the 40-some members — were working with lawyers to oust her. On March 27, they filed a lawsuit in federal court against Artemis and Kappa Kappa Gamma.

“Hate from strangers is one thing,” Artemis said. “It was a gut punch after working so hard to get in to realize there were people who never wanted me there in the first place.”

And the Great British Flower fight had a trans woman on also and she was not just accepted she was really loved because she was so nice.

I so love that these shows are doing this. If you think about it Hollywood was big in getting gay people accepted as just people.

I hope these shows continue and make a mockery out of some of the evil people out there who can't handle themselves or the truth.

And I hope whoever had hurt this women pays for what they did.

2. Frankly

I don't know why anyone would join a sorority. Maybe they've changed since I was in college, but it seemed like the sorority girls were just there to be arm candy and an easy f**k for the frat boys. Unless you're talking a sorority like AKA, which is specifically for African-American women. But even then, I don't know how welcoming they would be to LGBTQ+ people, especially the T's. Why open yourself up to the Mean Girls if you don't have to?

3. I tried to join a "cool" sorority my second year of college and was no accepted. One of the girls

told me that there was this huge discusion about me because I had been to the school psychiatrist. And that's why they voted me out.

The girl that told me was really mad at them.

So I learned what mean girls meant at that particular time.

4. Kappa Kappa Gamma since 2015 - position statements have made it clear organization composed of

women and individuals who identify as women.

The 7 women who filed the lawsuit are at odds with the values of the Fraternity (which is what Kappa Kappa Gamma is - as it was started when there were no sororities - only men's fraternities)
