Disney Polynesian Resort tourists were served bugs in food and got sick, lawsuit says
Food served at Disneys Polynesian Village Resort was contaminated with dozens of live insects, and four South Florida tourists became extremely sick, according to a lawsuit filed last week.
The Broward County plaintiffs Cynthia Walker, Jeoffrey Walker and Brittany Walker Figueroa, who is also suing on behalf of her child sued Walt Disney Parks and Resorts doing business as Oasis Bar & Grill as well as Disneys Polynesian Villas & Bungalows Condominium Association for damages in excess of $15,000.
After consuming multiple lettuce wraps [Walker Figueroa] felt something crawling inside of her mouth and removed what appeared to be a small green object that had legs and was moving, the lawsuit states.
A Disney spokeswoman responded to the suit with a written statement: Enjoying high-quality meals in clean and safe restaurants is an important part of a Walt Disney World Resort vacation. We do not believe the claimed illnesses were a result of the guests dining experiences, and we will defend against these allegations in court.
