alcohol and hand sanitizer price gouging on eBay

I have not been able to find any hand sanatizer or Alcohol for sale in Dallas. I was not even able to find injection and glucose test alcohol wipes. Some panic hoarding is normal but it is troubling that big mainstream companies like eBay and Amazon are profiting from this and contributing to the problem.

32 oz bottle of 91% isopropyl alcohol = $42 with shipping
eBay item number:293504596195

10 sold and more than 10 available
----
2 oz bottle of Purell = $34.80 with shipping
eBay item number:124114530662
----

8 oz bottle of hand sanatizer = 39.99 plus shipping
eBay item number:193378514792

more than 10 available

Best thing is wash your hand with hot water and soap for at least 20 seconds

It protects them and others. I suspect that people will do that more frequently than washing.

I use alcohol wipes for testing but it is hard on the skin and I often skip it. I hope that pharmacists are keeping supplies behind the counter for people that really need it.

I have not attempted to sell hand sanitizer, but several days ago ebay notified just ONE of my accounts of the following:

"Due to regulatory restrictions across the United States, we have chosen to ban certain items listed on our site.

Effective immediately, eBay will block new listings and start to remove listings that sell:
• Masks including N95/N100 and surgical masks
• Hand Sanitizer/Gel
• Disinfecting Wipes

We will continue to monitor the evolving situation and quickly remove any listing that mentions COVID-19, coronavirus, 2019nCoV (except books) in the title, description, or MPN.

These listings may violate applicable US laws or regulations, eBay policies, and exhibit unfair pricing behavior for our buyers."
