Disposing of EpiPen?

I take the EpiPen with me whenever I get my allergy shots at the clinic.

But it had an expiration date and I wonder whether I should take it to the sheriff office which has a box that collects medicine or just throw it in the trash.

Thanks

Apparently, you can take it to your doctor’s office for disposal and some pharmacies will also accept them for disposal.....they recommend you call your pharmacy to ask them. Also, some cities have hazardous waste disposal sites.

I also read that the pen should be kept in its case for disposal. (I don’t use them so am not sure what that means.)

Hope this helps a little!
