"If healthy sleep habits are maintained over longer duration, this would lead to clinically important weight loss over time. Many people are working hard to find ways to decrease their caloric intake to lose weight — well, just by sleeping more, you may be able to reduce it substantially.”

270 calories per day fewer than needed X 365 days per year X 3 years / 3500 calories per pound of fat = more than 84 lbs lost over 3 years.

I noticed that they said 27 pounds over 3 years. Then it occurred to me that it should be 27 pounds per year and that would give you 82 pounds over 3. Our math is better than theirs since ours shows you lose a lot more weight.... more incentive to sleep well. I wish I could.

3 or 4 hours at time. I get 8.5 spread over 24 hrs. Only need 8 more pounds to hit my ideal BMI. I’m a little less than when I graduated high school, just look way different in a mirror.
