A federal court has ordered the Federal Bureau of Prisons to secure the first gender-affirming

surgery for an incarcerated trans person. Cristina Iglesias will get her surgery after being denied for years. She will become one of the few trans incarcerated people housed under their lived gender. From a study tracking 45 states, only 15 out of 4,890 trans incarcerated people were properly housed. Hopefully Iglesias' case will spark more justice for trans incarcerated people
