Related: About this forumI have a sudden and significant heart murmur...
it developed in two weeks. Waiting for cardiologist but could tell my doctor was really freaked out.
Im pretty freaked out but it reinforces my thinking that I had Covid before the lockdown. I developed type 2 diabetes in 2021 and now this.
Im on bed rest until my next round of tests. I may have to do more than lurk and read.
Anyone with it, too? Advice? Im 51 and the only child caregiver for my 90-year-old Dad.

(152,087 posts)The first thing I'd tell you: Try not to worry. I know, it's not easy.
Is the bed rest your idea, or your doctor's?
Heart murmurs are common and much can be done about them. Since you don't know what kind you have, it's problematic to give any real advice.
Be good to yourself!
I hope all will be well.

Go buy apples, oranges, plums.
Salad plates of carrots, broccoli , cauliflower. Beans or peas or lentil soups. Go REAL easy on the salt.
Forget the majority of beef, pork, cheese. Forget all sausage. Chicken, eggs and fish are okay.
I did most of these. Your blood pressure will drop a bit in a short time.
I hear Air Fryers are for the win. Cancel out the fried food.
Watch happy movies and tv shows such as Extraordinary Attorney Woo (South Korean 16 episode series).

(2,341 posts)My wife had the same with Covid. She got real sick, we forced her to the hospital and found the heart issues. Murmur and then a heart attack. In blood thinners and because of this found out she has sleep apnea. Get tested with a cardiologist ASAP. Nothing to screw with.
Good luck and get well
