Related: About this forumPlease get your updated booster
I waited too long to schedule it for myself and my husband. I found appointments in late December and January. Our local pharmacy is scheduling vaccines once an hour instead of 3x an hour.
Don't wait to schedule. Don't procrastinate.

(7,506 posts)My daughter is an MD and was after me to get the 3rd booster plus a flu shot. I did so last month. Her words, "Mom, it is not over yet". I got both shots and have encouraged everyone I know to do the same. It is a simple procedure.
I don't understand why there is resistance. Better safe...etc.

Very happy my wife and I have gotten all 5 Moderna shots so far, and this years flu vaccine.

(15,697 posts)My husband and I went on a two-year-delayed trip to Canada at the end of September. We have two vaccines and two boosters. Elected to wait to get the newest booster because we didn't want to get sick before our trip. BIG MISTAKE! Canada removed their strict mask requirement on October 1. We got home October 10 and both ended up with Covid. YOU DO NOT WANT THIS! Even fully vaccinated and boosted, we both got very sick.
Now we have to wait three months to get the new booster and our annual flu shot.

(5,266 posts)I thought the same: that you have to wait 3 months. Not so anymore, it is suggested to get the new vax as soon as covid symptoms are gone and you are testing negative. Check to be sure but that is the info circulating here with my doc and pharmacy.

(62,648 posts)In Boston, appointments are about 2 weeks (big chain pharmacy).
I found a location that offered an updated Pfizer appointment the next weekend (3 days).
Not sure why the change. Initially school staff were scheduled ahead of the elderly and ill for the vaccine. I did whine about that here.
Then the floodgates opened and it became difficult to schedule our vaccinations. Earlier in the year it became easy but now it's become more delayed again. I have no idea why. I'll look into other vaccination sites.

Sore arm the next day, that was all.

(18,876 posts)And just got my 2nd booster over a week ago. The lady was so gentle I didn't feel it and the thought ran through my mind that she might have not actually given it to me, but I had no doubt the next day. The side effects for the 2nd booster were as bad as my first Covid shot.

(1,273 posts)No appointment although you can get one and I was still first in line as it was not crowded.
Already got my senior flue shot in October also.
