He actually emailed me yesterday! Groin pain is gone. I asked if some abdominal pain is normal while drinking the Miralax and he said yes, as long as I'm passing stool and gas. Stomach has calmed down. Taking GasX. The stomach turmoil was terrible.
Hoping this resolves this scary, painful, 16-day ordeal. If it continues, I'll insist on GI referral and I assuming imaging.
Thank you all. Fingers crossed

(3,775 posts)A friend of mine had similar issues along with incredible pain. It was pancreatitis and a gall bladder about to blow.
It took 3 months, btw, to get a diagnosis. (This was during the pandemic, and I know the hospitals had a lot going on!)
It was, believe it or not, an ER doctor who made the correct diagnosis.
I hope you feel great soon, but if not, I hope they can track down the problem and give you a treatment plan!
A few months ago i had an ultrasound and they found gal l bladder sludge. I sort of have a bad diet.
I'm glad he was finally correctly diagnosed. I envision me bent over in agony with my gallbladder!

(15,364 posts)I had stomach problems most of my life. One night I was randomly switching thru the channels and there was the country's leading gut specialist. She said that as we age all the cilia in our intestines start dying off and taking 3,000 MG of fish oil is how to fix it. I started taking it and in less than a week everything was great. That was about 20 years ago and it's all still good. I hope all goes great for you.

(2,083 posts)It gently took care of my constipation. Other treatments, including gas-x, did not work. I still keep Miralax on hand for the occasional bout of constipation.
Isn't it fun growing old?
