Is their a way to NOT get foreign language films? I have settled down

to watch a film and THEN found out it is in a foreign language with subtitles. I have to be in a certain mood to watch them - having to pay close attention since I am only reading the action.

I would love to not be offered them or at the least be notified immediately if subtitles only.

1. Excellent question! I just went through that.

It takes me forever to decide on a movie and when I finally do ... its all subtitles.

2. It reminds me of the time that I tried to watch the black-and-white version of Hamlet in Russian

with the sparse movie sets that made it look like a high school production. That was the year my alma mater had a symposium on the composer, Shostakovich. Yes, the music was great, but it wasn't worth it. I didn't make it halfway through the movie.

3. Click through the foreign films to the language

Options. Many have English dubbing which is usually pretty good. I keep the subtitles on to get both. Opens up a ton of new videos for me.

I have my profile already set for English, yet I still end up with shows in other languages.

5. Surely any description of the movie includes that information?

If it doesn't, it certainly should.

6. I got a kick out of a couple Korean films I watched. In sceens where they were obviously

angry and using some bad language, the sub-titles would say "Gosh" or "Golly".

9. Actors were literally saying "Shit" in a Bollywood movie

Subtitles were changed to "Darn"...



Indians always swear in English...at least in the movies....They swear just like us..

7. I watch at least 2 hours of subbed anime each day

so it is no problem for me.

If I had children, I would strongly encourage them to watch subbed anime and movies. It helps reading and cognitive ability.
