UK crime drama "Line of Duty" on Amazon Prime - really excellent. Also "Unforgotten" on PBS
My wife and I really enjoy multipart crime dramas - the first from years ago we loved were Touching Evil and Prime Suspect (Helen Mirren - say no more).
We found one that we really enjoyed recently - Unforgotten - starring Nikola Walker (we enjoy watching her in everything she is in). We watched it using PBS Passport streaming on our Roku. It is in the Masterpiece Mystery series.

A UK gardening friend just suggested we give Line of Duty a try - holy shit - edge of the seat, really complex story lines, great acting - highly recommended (though it is hard to get to sleep after watching it!).

Happy watching!

Definitely cases of where the cover up really is worse than the crime.

(28,361 posts)Watched it a few years ago and thought it was one of the best crime drama's I've ever watched. The 2nd time around has not disappointed, either. The acting is fantastic and this isn't a "shoot 'em up" type series. The storyline involves police corruption, the unit (AC-12) that fights it and the perps - mainly executive officers - who abuse it.
I was going to post an OP about this series, but thought I'd add to your post instead.

(60,500 posts)We are two episodes into season 2. They certainly do delight in pulling the rug out from under you!
My wife is actually much better at sorting out the true "bad guys" than I am - I tend to just immerse myself into the drama and resist thinking ahead and going into solution mode.
Keeley Hawes is pretty incredible - I've never liked her as an actress that much in previous roles, but she nails this one.

(28,361 posts)Keeley was great in her role....the viewer doesn't know whether to like her or hate her.
The key players - Steve Arnott (Martin Compston), Kate Fleming (Vicky McClure) and Ted Hastings (Adrian Dunbar) were outstanding choices for the roles they played. I especially like Dunbar as the chief of AC-12. The way he'd get torqued up during interviews was a masterclass in acting!

(7,923 posts)I've only watched them once since I saw them in the last year but will definitely watch again. Highly recommend to people who love a really great mystery.

(10,323 posts)I just finished The Fall starring Gillian Anderson. It was 17 episodes that should have been 6 or 7 episodes and she was using her bad Margaret Thatcher accent from The Crown that I find offputting.

(3,294 posts)the conversation having just finished E4 of S2, and see you made comment at the same place 😂. The fine acting and storytelling make this show very compelling. Artful.

(60,500 posts)I was shaking, edge of my seat, outraged, shocked throughout the 6 episodes. Simply one of the best things I've ever watched.
On to season 4 (if my heart can take it!) tomorrow night.

(3,294 posts)to have watched this as a binge. Ive actually come to prefer binge-watching. You get so much more involved with the story than when spread out over weeks and years. Agree this is one of the best shows Ive seen. On par with The Wire, The Sopranos and The Americans.

(60,500 posts)Season 4 - indescribable. And I love how there are strands that weave through all four seasons.
The main actress in season 4 was simply remarkable.
