Thunder Force on Netflix got bad reviews but we liked it...

It stars Melissa McCarthy and Octavia Spencer as Superheroes in Chicago. It's cheesy fun if you like that sort of thing. Is it an Oscar nominee? No, but it was entertaining.

Octavia Spencer should have gotten more funny lines, but she played the straight "man" so...
I love Melissa McCarthy's physicality and facial expressions. They are just comedy itself. We enjoyed this movie knowing full well it would just be plain silly and it was.

Both the wife and daughter love Melissa Mccarthy. I wouldn't go to a theater for this, it's TV quality, though.

Maybe I'll give it a chance. I'm always up for some mindless entertainment. Especially at bedtime.

McCarthy and Spencer probably got hernias from carrying that thing. All I could think of was how come with all the struggling writers in this world they couldn't find someone to write actually funny dialogue.

It followed the format of comic book superhero movies but most of the gags were Airplane!

It worked in Airplane! because the pacing was so fast. If a joke fell flat another joke immediately followed, no time to groan.

Except for the action scenes the pace of superhero movies tends to be a little slow.

Thunder Force was poking fun at scenes like this:

That's where things went wrong. They did it at the same pace. If they'd doubled the pace it would have been funnier.
