Danish ‘The Rain’ Stars Join Netflix’s New Season of ‘Borgen’
Netflix has unveiled the cast for the new season of 'Borgen,' the hit Danish political drama that is being relaunched on the streamer after almost a decade-long hiatus. Among the cast additions are stars of hit series 'The Rain.

Borgen ran for three seasons —from 2010 to 2013—on Danish public broadcaster DR and became a surprise international hit. Sidse Babett Knudsen caught the attention of international casting agents, and took on supporting roles in HBO’s Westworld and BBC limited series Roadkill.
DR and Netflix are teaming up for the fourth season relaunch, which will see Birgitte Nyborg taking on a new role as Denmark’s foreign minister, as Katrine Fonsmark, her former head of press, returns to journalism, landing a job at one of the country’s top TV stations.
SAM Productions, the production company set up by Price, Emilie Lebech Kaae, and Maja Jul Larsen, will produce Borgen with Follow the Money helmer Per Fly as the series’ conceptual director. Meta Louise Foldager Sorensen (Melancholia) is executive producing with Stine Meldgaard Madsen and Michel Ryddeskov as producers. The fourth season of Borgen will launch on DR in 2022 followed by a bow on Netflix worldwide.
