Of course, I was high AF, but the scene where Leo was screaming on live TV...oh man. It was so cathartic, he screamed out everything I've been feeling and despairing since tfg was elected. Every moment over these last 5 years when I've felt like I was going mad because no one in charge could, or would, see that tfg and his entire administration had lost their fucking minds, and reality was an acid trip in a carnival funhouse. And now with the magats continuing the stupid with the anti-vax bullshit, I just want to take them by the lapels and shake them til their brains rattle! I cried so hard. And then at the end again, too.

This was a brilliant satire, unsubtle and harsh, and so perfectly on point it borders on becoming a tragedy. It IS tragic.

I continue to be impressed with Tyler Perry in his non-Madea roles. He's a damn good actor.

Kudos to Adam McKay for giving all of the supporting cast such meaty roles that he could get top actors interested. That can't be an easy task, but looking at his filmography, he seems really good at it.

10. I loved it, but it was frustrating..

I was having a bit of anxiety, so maybe should have waited to watch it because I was in high gear by the end.. kept saying to my husband, this is absolute reality! Hardly a parody at all. I found things to laugh at, but not much. All too real.

11. Made me so sad

I did shed some tears towards the end. I think mainly because it hit so close to the truth--that the people that are trying to do something to solve our big problems can't get anywhere due to the people in power being roadblocks. As you said, it is tragic and there is SO much to lose. All of the amazing non-human things on the planet, from plants to animals that are basically at our mercy and potentially will be lost. Many humans can see it and what needs to be done. But sadly, tragically, the ones that have the power and money are more interested in vanity projects or self enrichment and power than working to save the day, so to speak.

The film IS in your face and unsubtle but I think it could only be that way to make a dent in the attention span of so much of the audience today. Subtlety is lost on humans today in my opinion, or a large number of us. Sigh. But this is definitely worth watching and I hope it does get seen by a wide audience.

(I looked at this mostly in regards to global warming rather than covid. At least if a pandemic made humans extinct, nature would still be able to remain and probably flourish without us.)

...the best thing I've seen since "Once Upon A Time In Hollywood."

As a friend of and collaborator with George DiCaprio on a Timothy Leary underground comic, the first time I met Leo was when he was about 4-5 years old.

My significant other at the time (late 1970s) photographed Leo in my art studio.

One of the photos became his promo photo when he wanted to get acting gigs, like his older stepbrother, Adam.

Leo got a Matchbox toy commercial, and the rest is, as "they" say, history.

True story.

become one of the “real reals” as he put it. He portrayed that anxiety so well, it was palpable. I was so anxious!

Edit: I said last night it to Mr, that it was the best thing I’ve seen since “Arrival”, which also overwhelmed me with emotion.
