I haven't seen any mention of Amend on Netflix, it's a documentary series on

racism in the US. There were many examples of atrocities in this country against anyone of color or their
sexual orientation that I had never been aware of. In the last episode they talked about Harland Carter a man I had never heard of before. He murdered a Mexican when he was 17 years old and only served 2 years for it. In his later years he became
head of the Border Patrol and came up with Operation Wetback. Under Operation Wetback thousands of Mexicans
even naturalized citizens were deported. Then later he became President of the NRA and transformed the NRA from
an advocate of gun safety and hunting into a purely political organization. I have always credited Wayne LaPiere for that but
he was 20 years before Wayne LaPiere.

can inflict widespread death and mayhem. Apparently he was a popular person because of his hatred and bigotry. And to top it off, most of us had never heard of him.
