Anyone watching "The woman in the house...
across the street from the girl in the window"? Is it worth watching?

(52,739 posts)And YET, I am still watching because there is a murder mystery in there and I am a sucker for a mystery.
It could have been funnier, but I still enjoyed it. And they set it up for a second season.

(12,877 posts)Very well done parody of those I-saw-a-murder-but-no-one-believes-me stories. The early episodes are driven by the mystery elements but the cliches and goofiness begin to pile up. Funny, but subtly so, at least in the beginning, then more outrageous from the fifth episode on. For me, the tonal shift occurred with the appearance of the ventriloquist dummy. But it works as a thriller, too, as a good parody should.

(23,980 posts)It's pretty amusing so I'll stick with it. Cracks me up the way her wine glass can hold a full bottle!

(12,877 posts)I remember saying to someone "Why do these stories always have people drinking lots of wine to wash down medication. In real life, the person would probably die!" But that was before I fully realized it was a parody. It reminds of the Netflix movie Army of Thieves, which I eventually realized was a parody of heist movies.
