MAID----Netflix
I did a search to see if someone had already commented on Netflix's Limited Series "MAID. I couldn't find where anyone had which really surprised me. It was released on Netflix October 2021 and has been a top pick for quite a while. It was on my "To Watch" list for a while and I finally got around to watching it.
It's pretty engrossing and I was very much attracted to both Margaret Qualley who plays Alex the struggling Mom and Rylea Nevaeh Whittet, who plays Maddie, Alex's 2 year old daughter.
It's an emotional story of struggle, desperation, courage, love and perseverance based on a true story by Stephanie Land.
It's only a 10 episode limited series, so not a long investment.
Margaret Qualleu (Alex) & Rlyea Whittet ( Maddie)

(18,510 posts)There was some criticism that it was unrealistic, showing the struggles of a pretty, privileged young white woman, but it was based on a book of the real life experiences of a young womans struggles.
It was filmed where I live, on beautiful Vancouver Island in BC.

(25,685 posts)I was going to mention that in my post, but thought that was just my own perception. The times when Alex was by herself staring out a window or walking in the woods or sitting dejected in her bedroom at the Women's Housing were sometimes drawn out. I just FF. I would not, not recommend the series because of those issues. It was still a very good story.
Give it another chance.
