American Born Chinese on Disney+
Didn't expect to enjoy it that much but was pleasantly surprised. It's a YA series but sweet in places with a fun mythology to play with.
A nice respite from the doldrums.

(23,254 posts)Grew up n SF where I learned early on the difference of ABC and off the boat Chinese. I was shocked and thought it was racist when I was younger but now I see it more cultural.

(12,598 posts)I enjoyed them, but they were taking a while to get going, and I haven't gotten back to them. I do want to finish the series - it's nice to see basically the cast of Everything Everywhere All At Once again.

A lot of the Disney stuff is getting repetitive. They used pretty much the same formula for "Seeing Red" and "Ms. Marvel."

(12,598 posts)This just felt like it was moving slow on the setup. Of course Ms Marvel felt like it was 5 episodes of setup before the climax.
