Masters of the Air on Apple+ is wonderful

It's very good. We've watched 3 episodes so far.

1. Yes it is well done. The CGI is spectacular. And it has a plot and character development.

Apple seems to still be willing to put a of money into streaming productions.

3. Tweech his own. I was not impressed. Yes the CG is neat but the story has been told so many times that

it's become formulaic. A mix of late 1940's, '50's and 1960's WW2 bomber movies.
I joined Apple + just for this show and I cancelled it the other day after 4 episodes..
You just know what's gonna happen next..That said,
Enjoy the series if you have never seen the movies
Memphis Belle, 12 O'clock High or any of the films of that genre. I've seen them all being a ww2 aircraft nut.

5. I think I really wanted to watch it because my 98 year old Dad just passed away last week

My dad enlisted the day he was eligible and was weeks away from being sent overseas when the war ended. But my uncles and my father-in-law were in the thick of it.

I think we need to keep telling this story.

And yes, I loved Memphis Belle.

6. My old man was a machinist mate on a heavy cruiser in WW2..Normandy, Cherbourg and other fights in the med.

He loved the Navy and loved the life.. He lucked out with no injuries or PTSD...
Me? I really liked the aircraft of the day. I have flown in a basic biplane ww2 trainer and would love to fly in a C-47/DC-3. A B-17 would be a real treat.
I was at a air museum and stood next to one...I just amazed me how these "kids" did what they did in those things.. Just amazing... Hats off to them all.
It's hard to believe 55,500 of those "kids" died trying to complete their missions.
44% loss rate for US bomber command.
War really sucks and we never learn... Insanity...

4. Gave Uncle Ken nightmares again

Uncle Ken was a B-17 flight engineer, in August and again in October 1943, he flew two missions to bomb Schweinfurt. The formation lost more than 120 bombers, with many damaged. That stopped daylight bombing raids until the P-51s could escort them deep into Germany

They actually built three full-scale replica B-17s. None could fly, though one could taxi.

Nitpickers and trivia experts will probably find plenty to grumble about, but facts and actual timeline sequences aren't the point. It's a salute to those that served in the air, on the ground, who volunteered and helped, and to the many that gave their lives.

Yeah .... wonderful.
