Oscar nominated "American Fiction" (2023) now streaming on Prime
Though I agree with the Best Picture Oscar being awarded to Oppenheimer, Cord Jefferson's American Fiction was a film I enjoyed more. Of all the ten Best Picture nominees (any film released in 2023 actually), it was my favorite. Jeffrey Wright gave a wonderful performance in the lead role.

Just curious. I didn't read the book but am curious.

(13,892 posts)2. Very good film with a mix of comedy and drama. Definitely worth watching and it flies right on by.

(28,594 posts)3. It is such a good movie.
I am frankly sick and tired of Best Picture awards going to war movies. I would rather see a nuanced script and performance like those in "American Fiction" win and oh, by the way, they need to set up a separate category for biopics.

I hate that prime has ads but it was only two at the start, which is about 98 fewer than in a theater.
