HBO -The West Wing - Episode titled "Gaza"

I still can not get over that In Season 5 - an episode titled “Gaza” first aired May 2004, but could have easily been written and aired in 2024. It is stunningly relevant to the 2024 state of affairs.

Have not found any episode that was dated or felt old because the topic was “so in the past” -
Sadly, quite the opposite, The West Wing is still relevant, it’s our country that is stuck when it comes to guns, health care, the environment and women’s issues.

I am trying to not binge watch because I’ll be sad when the last episode comes to “the end”

I appreciate your perspective. Taken in its totality, about 40% of the episodes contain themes Ninga Jun 2024 #2

with the GOP nominating a Senator for California ( Alan Alda's character ) versus the Democratic House member from Texas ( Matthew Santos ) do things seem to diverge from our current time so dramatically. In that world, the GOP wasn't completely crazy, the religious nutz had yet to take over the GOP...

Not to mention GOP Senator in CA ( LOL )

Otherwise there are a lot of parallels where the writers take a lot of themes from 1999 - 2004 era and we "history rhymes" in 2024, including the GAZA trip. But the subsequent Camp David episode where Leo has the heart attack and Bartlett puts American soldiers as peacekeepers into Gaza... and everyone walks away with a two state solution and an agreement on Jerusalem... that would never happen now.

I own the series... it is the only bit of sanity that got me through Shrub and Trump ( 12 years of misery ). I think I binged watched it like 4 or 5 times total.

and outcomes that would not fly today, but gee wiz, I still can not get over the relevance of the ones that do.
