(2,217 posts)I can see where this will be the future! I only do movies off Netflix and Amazon, and some wacko channels have some out of the ordinary content. The big networks are not signed on yet, but it will happen!

(84,711 posts)Have you checked out the CNN International which is better than the US RAG...and the international news sites in English from Russia, France, Ireland, BBC and Germany?
Great sites and no Drug Commercials that last for 10 minutes. Plus the other good, quirky and informative content.
I think Roku will be killed off eventually, but I'm loving it for now.

(84,711 posts)The best is NowhereTV...which when you click on the site go to "whats available" and you will find tons of channels.
Scroll down to "International" for "CNN International," (RTE -Irish TV, DV (German TV), RT for (Russia TV ) plus Aljazerra, BBC and others.
You can add the whole Nowhereman TV by clicking the button on the site which will add to ROKU.
There's tons of other stuff. You will never be bored. Even PBS, Charlie Rose, Current Olberman clips.....well there's just too much there to list it all.
OOPS: Forgot to add the link:

(26,117 posts)We loaded up a Pandora Christmas music station to play over the TV while we decorated our tree.
I had fun showing my husband a the international radio stations we can get over the Tune In channel (or whatever it's called).
Lots of free old TV and radio shows available, too, if you like vintage stuff.
And NASA TV is cool.
Obligatory Netflix mention: Since our ISP upgraded to fiberoptic, we can easily stream Netflix over the Roku and the Wii simultaneously without any problems. Fabulous!

(1,999 posts)I wish we would have actually talked to people who have it before jumping at the wonderful pricing quoted in the junk mail they send out. I do like the whole house DVR, but not much else.
Live and learn, I guess. Next month I'll try canceling and see what they offer. Thanks for the heads up.

(37,305 posts)I've got different IOS devices saving different shows and it will really come in handy to entertain the kids. Then they won't kill my 2 gigs via 3G streaming Netflix.
