Cousin's husband has scoliosis - lots of pain. He's in his 70's

He has been getting cortisone shots (in his neck I think) for about a year but the pain is getting worse and he now has to walk with a cane.

Thanks for any information. (They don't want to do the surgery.)

P.S. Does medical marijuana help this condition for pain? Anyone know from their own experience?

Even if it doesn't touch the pain, it will help him relax and feel better. It will also increase his appetite, cutting any of the nausea that often accompanies severe pain.

It could also be time for a referral to a pain specialist, since he's not a candidate for surgery (and trust me, the surgery is pretty terrible in young people, a cousin survived it). It could be time for opiates injected directly into the spinal canal or trying other drugs like lidocaine patches.

Good luck, backs are buggers. I have an old neck fracture, myself, never stopped hurting.

use surgery for it. She has massage therapy every week. Has since about 2006 and we really see the difference in her from that. Since she is non-verbal she can't tell me but we see a real difference. We tried Marijuana but she did not like the other effects and taste.
