As the 5th Dementia band knows, music can change your life. Made up of Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s patients along with volunteer UCLA student musicians, the band performs for the pure love of the music. But it’s much more than that. The Alzheimer’s Foundation of America states that “when used appropriately, music can shift mood, manage stress-induced agitation, stimulate positive interactions, facilitate cognitive function, and coordinate motor movements.” Watch the video to see the magic that takes place when the music begins!
