Neuropathy

A few years ago I got shingles on the side of my head. It went away, bu now I have a burning itch on the same location where I had shingles. Can Shingles related neuropathy show years after the fact. It is also the side where I had radiation treatment. I also have the burning itch on my Adam's Apple. Cold water helps a bit.

Tks for any clues

When I asked a doctor, he immediately suspected I was having a stroke. When he was satisfied I wasn't, he finally explained that the nerve discomfort from shingles can last without full blown shingles recurring. I've since then had shingles shots, & never felt that again.

You can run it by your doctor, it's in a bad place. You do need to be followed for this, make sure it doesn't have a more serious cause.

Treatment will depend on the cause and it is very limited.

Some people have claimed relief from CBD oil from hemp, usually applied topically. That's pure anecdata at this point. It's pretty much THC free, so you can legally mail order it if you think it's worth a try.

However, do see your doc about this.
