I've been muttering for years that wipes aren't that good.

I may have had a touch of OCD. Back in CT, our first home, I scrubbed the countertops a lot. They had that Formica boomerang design. That popular pattern. He'd say the design was disappearing. 😝
A mild touch of OCD I do have to say helps one cope.

(59,466 posts)4. The culprit is a preservative
"The chemical preservative, methylisothiazolinone, is found in many water-based products, including pre-moistened wipes, cosmetics, liquid soaps, hair products, sunscreen, and laundry and cleaning products."
Ty for posting, Sprink!

(5,485 posts)6. The ingredient is in ALL of my shampoos and soaps but not in any of the wipes
Of several brands of liquid soaps and shampoos all of them list methylisothiazolinone so we can't get away from it easily and just have to be sure to rinse it off thoroughly.
But none of my facial and baby wipes list methylisothiazolinone. I buy cheap ones that I also use for cleaning around bathroom and tub and shower as they are very effective and rinseable. Most of them contain aloe vera. No skin problems so far.

(20,540 posts)7. I been buying baby wipes for my hands for quite a while. No prob.
Then grabbed a twin pak of one never purchased b4 from Target. They're for personal use, not general cleaning. I think it says some alcohol content. It could be a combo of them, dish detergent and a new store brand liquid hand soap in the bathroom dispenser. I get careless and lazy to put gloves on when cleaning. Then I wash my hands a lot. This could be a one off. Not occurring frequently.
