in a google search for 520hz smoke detector, ranging from $49-$225+
Not recommending since there are different applications, etc only you know

verbal/spoken alarm?

We recently (~5 years ago) replaced all of ours with a smoke/carbon monoxide detector by Kidde (don't know the model number off the top of my head) and it alternates beeps with a slightly robotic female voice "FIRE! FIRE! FIRE!" when it goes off from smoke or "DANGER! DANGER DANGER!" for carbon monoxide.

Is offering smoke detectors. They put mine in free, 10 year, no battery replacement.

Carbon monoxide detectors at your local fire department. They should be able to answer.

I'm a light sleeper and don't need a piercing alarm. Or so I think.

...bright flashing lights or for your bedroom, a vibrator pad like an alarm clock. Sound is NOT the only alternative for an alert.
