Got a letter from HR telling me I either return to work or resign after six months of being out. I am in the SSDI process, so will not be returning. Anything having to do with my job sends me into panic mode.
I was okayed by the long-term disability insurance company to receive monthly payments. I'm concerned that resignation will effect my LTD insurance payments and health insurance, which I'm paying fully now
I'm calling HR tomorrow. Just so worried, I didn't sleep last night. Trying to stay calm, but it's hard not to be anxious.
Thanks for reading. I really don't have anyone to vent to

(71,713 posts)this is the part where i am super grateful that i decided to take music lessons a bit over a year ago.
when i cant take it, i turn up the music and sing. getting to where a little piano practice settles my nerves and gives me something to pat myself on the back for.

(59,504 posts)Google SSDI websites. While not sound legal advice, you might learn what others have been through & get some ideas.
Apply for Obamacare! Likely can't until you no longer have health ins & have been turned down by Medicaid though.
Breathe... it's a process.

(13,736 posts)Yeah, per civil service rules, after 6 months, you go back or resign. I'm actually okay with that, as long as my LTD money comes through and I can still pay for insurance

(59,504 posts)But losing job / healthcare benefits is a major life event that qualifies you to apply for Medicaid, then ACA insurance without concern for enrollment period.
