Just Koz here. A bit of an update. LilBit is fantastic. She is hugging me much more, snuggling with me at night, she is great. Her meals are made, she is bathed.This camper is clean. I’m just her robot, right now. I’ve spoken to live people here, , some who blocked me. in Fla medicaid.
They all worry about her.
I m just Koz, who can ask how I am?
I just fill out forms, re-say what I’ve said before when Medicaid calls. (I get calls from Fla Medicaid all the time, it’s just a different division.) I answer the door when the cops come on an anonymous wellness check.
And I’ve seen her admitted to a hospital because I needed surgery. And Fla Medicaid “couldn’t find a place to put her”
I fought all these fights for her. And You guys did the same.
My question is, Who in this world is cares about me?, so I can care for her?

4. It's everywhere

We need a support system for the carers. It’s exhausting taking care of someone who depends entirely on you, and if we didn’t do it, somehow society would end up paying an awful price, whether it picked up the cost or picked up the pieces.

I sympathize Koz, but have no answer.

5. Probably more than you can imagine. Too many people take those they care about for granted. They

care but don’t say so often enough. It’s part of human nature.

6. Speaking as a Canadian that became a live-in caregiver for my grandmother...

...after she developed bone cancer, I can say there just isn't any dedicated support system for the caregivers, other some possible government money normal people have to jump through too many hoops for.

You sadly have to create your own support system through the friends and acquaintances you make. That being said, I made some lifelong friends out of the ordeal, so there's some lasting benefits from doing it.

7. Have you looked into a caregiver support group? When I looked online there seem to be many,

[some online. I know it isn't for everyone, but I have known many people who have felt better and accessed resources for various situations. If you go that route you may have to find the best one for you. Good luck and be strong.
