I went in for back xrays, and they found calcification upper right quadrant and calcified uterine fibroid. Now they wants tests. I'm terrified.
Cancer runs in my family. Mr X said of coarse schedule the OB and ultrasound. I want to not and bury my head in the sand. I can't take one more thing. I'm 58. Mother died of lung cancer at 60.
So anxious. TY for reading. Hope everyone is ok

(36,056 posts)I'll follow through with the tests. If its serious, maybe they'll catch it in time. My fear is another call saying something was found in my breasts.

When I get really anxious I try something like counting backwards from 1,000 by 7. It's enough that I have to keep my mind engaged but not that much that I get really frustrated.

(3,614 posts)women have fibroids. The calcified ones are just fibroids that are all and became hardened. Unless you have pain or bleeding, doctors usually leave them alone. Hope yours are not symptomatic.
It's so hard getting abnormal test results, made even worse over the holidays. Pray you can find some peaceful relaxing times and even enjoy yourself some.
I look forward to the holidays being over! My stepson passed away on Christmas Day 2011 due to an OD of OxyContin while drinking alcohol. My husband gets so depressed this time of year, it brings me down, too. You never really get over something like that. The stepson was a huge animal lover, so we go to shelters and make donations in his name. He also loved playing guitar, so we donate to charities that help kids get instruments. There is a charity called Guitars Not Guns that gives at risk kids guitar lessons. Their mission statement: "Music has the power to heal. We instill a love and appreciation of music that children can carry with them for the rest of their lives.
Stress relieving hugs sent your way!

I understand it though and I do it on occasion myself. Just know you are loved and have people who are there for you. (At least I hope you do!)
