I'munder VA care, this is not a slam on them. But he called last Friday, and told me I was withdrawing, I didn't sound right. I told him I felt pressured, from first holiday alone, and I just didn't feel " right".
Tonight, as I was taking my bedtime meds, my eye caught the label on my vitamins that they prescribed. " all natural flavors and vitamins " Berry flavor, I'm allergic to raspberries! And i have been putting small amounts of raspberries into my body twice aday, since the end of Dec.
My point is, I've been feeling worse and worse lately, I cut out all my booze since before Christmas. I read the pharmacy tag, on everything I take, I didn't read the ingredients on the bottle.
No one's fault but mine. I have a feeling, I'm gonna improve from here out. Read not only your scripts, read the bottle. A simple vitamin pulled me down, I didn't read the bottle.

(113,131 posts)I sympathize, I just don't like them. I've had too many innocent appearing chocolate cakes ruined by a layer of cheap raspberry jam in between the layers, I guess.
I don't winder that the holidays threw you for a loop this year, you haven't had much time to get used to being completely alone. Maybe by next year things will feel more normal.
Getting rid of a small amount of allergen might help you feel better physucally. I know I've tried small amounts of one of my allergens, didn't feel much worse but it sure showed up in my blood work.
I made calls to the Doc today, the raspberry thing was a mistake, but not causing my issues.the blood thinner med change is. I'm experiencing side effects from the new med, dizziness, nausea, joint pain. This med was changed at same time as the vitamins.
I till stand by my OP, and will add, we all need to be involved in our Healthcare. VA is definitely not an insurance company for profit, but my advice is same.
Be involved, asked questions, the most important part of a Healthcare team is, YOU. If you don't feel right, ask. If you don't agree, Talk. If you don't feel heard, find the boss
The insurance companies are making money off you.
I would also like to thank all US taxpayers, for taking care of me.
