Super-expensive dentist, call me back

About a question I have! I'm on the fence still about spending 25k (what I was hoping) and "worst case scenario" 32k!!! I want to know if the 25k price includes a mouthguard. The nice desk lady kicked this to clinical. Theyre usually super responsive. No call back since Monday.

I'm sorry. What I heard from the lady was its an extra 7k for some mouth guard. IOW, 32K. they sent me a treatment plan which is like Greek to me. Do they really expect no questions?

I had a long meeting with them, but thought of questions later. Its a lot to absorb. Mayne its no big deal to them. I hoped to get a call. I called Monday. They usually get back in hours.

Im pissed. I could handle 25k with help. I have a few questions. Maybe wrote me off?

Do you have a dental school in your area? If you do you can go to them and get a second opinion. mitch96 Apr 2024 #1

The one by me is very reasonable and work is done by senior dental students. All the work is overseen by the staff instructors using the latest techniques. Even if you don't have the work done there you get a second opinion and maybe the translation from the "Dental-ese"
They took very good care of my mouth and very conservative with the treatment..
Since I've moved every new dentist I go to sees a grand opportunity to make a few boat payments in my mouth. UFF..it's all about the money for them.
Oh and watch for a bit of "miss quoting of costs" One dental "company" said four extractions
that I did not need were covered by my insurance. On inquiry the insurance company said, they only covered ONE extraction per year...That means the other three I would have to pay out of pocket.
"Oh sorry your insurance only covers one so now you are responsible for the other three extractions"
Cash, credit card or our usurious payment plan...
Ok rant mode off..

There's no dental school. This is a specilized treatment. They may not want to spend time on me since i didn't jump into treatment after the consultation immediately and said I have to think about it.

I paid 300 for a 2nd opinion. He said he's not telling me anything outrageous. Id prefer the 2nd guy, but he's even more expensive. They tell you contact them if you have questions. I'm lying awake at night over this

My Szo wants me to use the chewing splint forever and harping on the cost. My cousin doesn't understand that crowns, special higher crowns so my teeth meet. Are so expensive and I'm an idiot. My stupid sister is harassing me to fix it with a pillow. My jaw prepped out of its socket. Fuck
