Mental Health Support
Related: About this forumJust had a telephone 'progress' update with my prescribing therapist
We talked about the November disaster. She said she thought about me, that day. She has some Trans patients who are terrified and looking into seeking asylum in Canada.
She and her wife have two children. When she told them of the election outcome, they looked at her and said "We're not safe!" That tore at my heart.
No change in medication. She did tell me that there are a few ways to help regulate my mental health. Taking hot baths or showers and LAUGHING. She also suggested looking in to yoga and/or meditation.
I'll talk to her, again, in two months.

(3,729 posts)Poilievre is trump. Just not orange and fat. The Ottawa truck-shitfest were a bunch of anti-vaxx trump fans. Anywhere west of the Great Lakes and you're in the deep southern parts of Alabama. Stay here and show up every election. We need to fight to remove the church from our government. Democracy is never easy no matter where we all live. Cheers and have a great day!!!!

(9,163 posts)I'm going to schedule an appt. (asap) with my Psychiatrist (he's great but he doesn't provide therapy because his main thing is prescribing and monitoring medication). Right now I'm on 40 Mg. of Cymbalta daily. I also have Xanax to take as needed for Anxiety.
I'm wondering if there's another medication (additional meds.) that I can take that will help with the trauma of the upcoming months....
My fellow LGBTQ+ friends and I are nervous. I have three couple friends (two male couples and one female couple) who are wondering if gay marriage is overturned would it mean their marriages would become invalid? One of the male couples have three kids. One's 18 and Autistic and then they have the twins who are 16.
