What's for Dinner, Sat., Jan. 28, 2023

Tonight: another recipe with which to experiment using my greens from the Chinese grocery. I have lima beans soaking for Napa cabbage/shredded pork/white bean soup. Broth and chopped onions, celery, and carrots are all ready to go in. I'll cook up the limas in my pressure cooker when I get back from planting garlic and checking out the greenhouse.

I dug up my recipe for pumpkin bars, so if I'm extra energetic, I might make them. If not, I'll have blueberry cornbread mini-loaves with the soup.

Sure wish Marthe would invite me over for some of those lemon bars, which sounds like a great dessert tonight. Or brown butter chocolate chip cookies at hippywife's house.

The next version of the internet should have a feature that lets us send cookies to each other.

Not sure yet how I'm going to cook it.

Beef and beans, green onions, grape tomatoes, sliced black olives, shredded sharp cheddar, sour cream and salsa, homemade guac and not-homemade Spanish rice. Frank's Red Hot all around.

Going to be much later, tho. We just had pastrami sandwiches. I accidentally found out I can buy Arby's Horsey Sauce in the store and it makes me so very happy.

Those cookies are so long gone. That's why I don't make them often.

And we've not gotten to scratch and sniff internet yet!

Not sure what yet as Mizzou is wiping out Iowa State and distracting me. They look like the Globetrotters today!

With andouille sausage, garnished with a sprinkle of shredded cheddar and green onions.
For dessert I just made some lemon brownies with fresh lemons I brought back from AZ last week. Not sure why they are called brownies…there is nothing brown involved.
