What's for Dinner, Wed., Mar. 22, 2023

Swedish Cabbage Soup, recipe by Mollie Katzen from Enchanted Broccoli Forest.

It's pretty easy: butter, cabbage, fennel seed. I might add a potato, which I already have going in the slow cooker.

That and a ham sammich will make my evening meal.

Dessert: either banana bread if I'm industrious or banana milkshake if I'm not. Decaf coffee.

from the follow up on my angiogram with the cardiologist. Had to go waaaaay up into the city, so fed my driver (husband) takeout lunch from Five Guys on the way there. I had a two bites of his burger and a handful of fries, so I'm not going to want dinner.

He, of course, will be hungry at some point tonight and just wants a Morningstar Farms Chik'n Patty sandwich on toasted English muffin with lettuce, tomato and Miracle Whip.

I have some frozen strawberries I put in the fridge to thaw yesterday, vanilla ice cream and angel food cake if either of us decides we want it later.

It was a long and tiring day.

Sliced turkey, Swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato, sliced Vidalia onion, salt, pepper and brown mustard on a freshly baked Italian bread.

A cup of canned pea soup. Potato chips. Beer.

Chocolate chip cookies.

I made some Indian Rice Pilau in the Instant Pot the other evening, so of course it made a gynormous amount.

I have to make an ingredients run in a little while, so the veggie component isn't decided yet. I'm hoping for some nice asparagus. Not sure about dessert, maybe some instant hot chocolate.

We're still getting all the lemons we can consume from our lemon tree!
