Stir fry vegetables with ginger-scallion-sesame tofu cubes.
I'm using my favorite Chinese brown sauce recipe for the stir fry.
Passion fruit tangerine kombucha.
I found out today I've been paying tax on kombucha. In NJ we don't pay sales tax on groceries. Well, I consider kombucha a grocery item. So now I'm mad about all the sales tax I paid, not to mention all the bottles that while I recycled, is still not very environmentally conscious. Grrr. Guess I'll think about making my own or kicking the habit.
Dessert: blueberry shortcake (made with almond flour). Cold decaf.

(10,646 posts)Marinated lamb skewers cooked outside since it's too hot to heat up the oven. For sides, I made a tomato/cucumber/onion salad, hummus, and taramasalata - which is surprisingly easy to make if you can find the roe!

I had some years ago and recall how much I liked it.

(10,646 posts)but I use stale sourdough instead. It's bread, roe, onion, lemon juice whipped to a paste; olive oil is then slowly added until it has the consistency of mayonnaise (which it is, in fact, related to).
The hard part is finding the roe. There's a European grocery near me that specializes in items from Poland and south, so that's where I go for my fixes of stuff that my grandmother made. Lots of pickles!

(37,867 posts)I have had an itch to go to my favorite Polish deli lately. Might even go early next week.. This will be one of my items to see if they have in stock. 30 drive though.
