Watermelon, feta, and arugula salad with balsamic glaze.

I have arugula rustica which is very strong; also a very nice quality feta which I have been saving for such a salad.

Kinda' warm here, so not too hungry for anything else. Maybe later a decaf iced coffee with a chocolate covered pretzel stick.

1. typical 4th menu...

Cheeseburger, potato salad, corn on the cob, pork and beans, iced sweet tea.

2. Watermelon and a cheeseburger and a fizzy lime water.

3. Grilling cheeseburgers, brats and hotdogs by the pond. Neighborhood

swim party cookout. Fireworks at dark provided by neighbors.

Fun day for the young ones.

4. Shrimp cocktail with lemon. Broccoli dipped into Artichoke and Asiago

dip from Loblaws.

5. Country ribs with bbq sauce cooked in the slow cooker ...

with mashed potatoes and green beans. Yum.

6. Hot 'n sticky here, with bad air

sautéed onions, yellow squash and Zucchini

sautéed orange and yellow peppers
pile it all together at the end
and it is good ...

9. Salade Nicoise

with some of the first tomatoes from my garden. We had a big meal midday with both our sons, with ribs, potato salad and key lime pie to celebrate my husband's birthday.

10. Did a cook-out yesterday

so today it's pita sandwiches with leftover lamb, a tomato/cucumber/yogurt dressing and homemade hummus

11. Chicken tacos and an ice cream bar

12. no ac + hot. shaved ham. + steamed sugar snap peas. aha. microwave 1 min. add butter.
