What's for Dinner, Sat., July 22, 2023

Hoisin turkey burger on ciabatta roll. The recipe promised this burger would not be dry and it lived up to its promise. Turkey burgers often are, as you know. I hollowed out the bread in the ciabatta to keep the carbs down.

The recipe called for 1/3 c applesauce, the taste of which I did not notice. Other ingredients were toasted sesame oil, soy, ginger, garlic, scallions and hoisin sauce.

I dressed the burger with ruffly green lettuce and sauce that I made with sriracha, mayo, lotsa' ginger, and toasted sesame oil with chopped scallion.

Sides were sweet potato fries and cold sweet peppers.

Tart cherry kombucha.

A square or two of milk chocolate for dessert.

I had dinner early 'cuz I have to work tonight. Should be pleasant in the gardens because the humidity is low and there is a breeze. Always love catching up and visiting with my community gardeners. It's exciting and fun when you get a big red Beefsteak, but even more fun when you can share that development with other gardeners, most of whom have something of their own they're proud of.

Also on the grill red and yellow bell peppers and summer squash. Cheaters sweet potato, 8 minutes in the microwave then to the grill.
Clean up will be easy tonight. I volunteered to cook and clean since there will only be loading the dishwasher, nothing to scrub from this dinner.
