Appetizer: cold vegetable soup with greens.
Salad: Watermelon, feta, and arugula with balsamic glaze.
Bratwursts wrapped in bacon. Ginger-citrus sauerkraut. Will have one in a naan, which I fold over like a soft shell taco.
Dessert: trying out my new Egyptian hibiscus flowers tea.
Sliced apple and cheese.
Boneless pork chops, egged and coated with seasoned breadcrumbs, are pan-fried. Towards the end, lemon juice is squeezed on the chops. Hot sauce to taste.
Served with baked beans and freshly made cole slaw.
Chocolate ice cream for dessert.

Whenever we have the sliders I miss FLFC, they were his favorite.

(18,111 posts)We are going to move soon and we will get another dog. The property management folks who took over the management of our rental house want thousands of dollars in fees and rent for us to have a dog. FLFC was grandfathered since he was already approved by the owner. Also an extra deposit which obviously will never be returned due to the 40 page lease we refused to sign. A new house might not be able to meet their move out inspection requirements!
The new dog will have its own habits and needs. I've never been around a dog as picky as Manny (FLFC), so the new pup may not be a source of material for this group.

(18,111 posts)I thought he was part cat because of his small size and picky eating.
We will have a different new dog soon. See my response above for a bit of background.
I didn't mention that our new abode will be in the country rather than in town.

I had four big chicken breasts and marinated them for 24 hours.
I then broiled them for 10 minutes per side.
I swear the meat was juicy and tender, a new experience with chicken altogether.
I reserved 1/2 cup of marinade and simmered it down to a sauce which I painted on the chicken.
