Black coffee ☕ and some homemade cookies I took from the Weiner Roast last night.
Every year a long time friend has a big Weiner Roast the first weekend of our annual Covered bridge festival here in Indiana. Parke County Indiana has I think around 35 covered bridges still around. A lot of them have been burnt down by vandals. Here are a few of them.

I love the combination of fruit and cottage cheese.
No eggs. Every third week is eggs week when I buy a dozen and consume them.

with volunteers, local saw mills and area land owners donating the trees rebuilt the bridge to it's original glory. I know of several other bridges that were burned down by vandals that were never rebuilt. Very few bridges you can drive through anymore, but I know a few you can. It's my little treat to give friends a ride through the Indiana countryside and drive through bridges.
Here is a link and pictures about rebuilding the Bridgetown Covered Bridge.

(37,899 posts)Thanks for posting them. We have a few around here, too mostly out in western NJ. I recall seeing them in the Midwest, too. I guess the idea is to keep the road from freezing over and stop people going into the water.
I know around here we have a few areas where the highway freezes and people skid off into the water and sometimes die because it's so cold, it's late at night, SUV overturns or whatever.
My "breakfast" was a little different: beef pho stock with broccoli, mustard, and other greens. I added snow peas and udon noodles. Put an eggroll in the air fryer and voila: breakfast in about 15". Wish I'd had some tofu, though.
