Instant pots are pretty amazing things. We have one with an air fryer lid and the versatility is pretty amazing. We made instant pot applesauce last night and it came out very nice. We did salmon in the air fryer attachment and really liked that too. Any recommendations of things to try/

My favorite quick roast is season (salt/pepper/garlic) and brown a 3 lb roast on all sides, sprinkle with a package of onion soup mix and some fresh thyme, top with a heap of thinly sliced onions (usually 3 medium sized) and pour a whole bottle of beer over the whole thing. I set mine on meat setting for 80 min. Then let it slow release. I shred the beef and thicken the onion gravy.

(14,653 posts)The one of the things I like is that the instantP uses less juice than my electric stove top. Just messed around and made some rice, beans and timed it boiling water. Like many pressure cookers tne thing to note is the 6 quart only has 4 ½ quarts of usable space inside...

15 minutes on high and they are moist and juicy.

(7,923 posts)Add lots of root veggies and spices and sometimes non-fatty pork. It's amazing to have bean dishes in a little over an hour. Healthy and not expensive.

(10,516 posts)I had tried to cook them in the pressure cooker and they came out ugly. The instant pot version didn't.
