I went to get the veggies prepped, pulling out the celery it reminded me of a tip I wanted to share for quite awhile, storing celery in refrigerator.
This is an amazing way to keep celery fresh and crispy the stalks shown are approximately 2 weeks in the fridge.
How it looks in the fridge.
First give the base end a good clean cut to expose new root end
cut off the dry crap at the bottom but dont cut into the stalks.
Wet a couple paper towels
not damp, wet
just before it starts to drip too much.
Wrap the towel up over the newly cut end and wrap completely in aluminum foil loosely but make sure its all enclosed like in the first picture.
Thats it!
I shouldve cleared off my wifes wine glass my way of giving kudos to the National Champions

(10,648 posts)and stick the individual stems in a glass of what. Way back when they had elaborate special celery glass which they used to display the (then exotic) vegetable at the table, but I use a plastic one. It's also a good way to perk up floppy stalks - trim the end, then stick in a glass of water. Depending on how floppy it is it will take from a couple of hours to a day or two to get a like-fresh stalk.
