Savory Vegetable Cheesecake (Mollie Katzen recipe). Has asparagus, zucchini, carrot, ricotta, goat cheese, mozzarella.

1. Chinese sesame noodles.

Keepin' it simple tonight.

DH's little son (now grown) loved them and thought they were the epitome of home cooking. Of course, these were the days when we had to convince him to try new things by saying they were just like spaghetti, just like pizza, etc. So we called them 'peanut butter spaghetti (and served the hot oil on the side). His daycare was very confused.

2. Between Easter cooking and basketball watching

have to keep things simple: oven-fried chicken, steamed broccoli, baked potato.

So far so good for the Iowa women ... and it's not just the Caitlin Clark show, the joy is watching the Hawkeyes be a team together.

3. Soup

Homemade minestrone; green salad with radish, cucumber, celery and red bell pepper; buttermilk biscuits from a can (better than my homemade); strawberries with cream and sugar.

4. Kids' food

We're at a party for the Landlady's great nephew's 4th birthday. There are about 20 other kids along with their parents so it's a bit zany.

There are pizzas, a huge pile of chicken nuggets, salads, lots of fruits, a large cheese platter and several different boxes of individual sandwiches.

Not quite gourmet!

Fun to see the kids having a blast! On our drive to Virginia, we stopped at a gas station where a young girl and her mother were selling Girl Scout cookies. I had to buy several boxes, of course!

My MD grands visited today, and they snacked on a sumo orange, ritz crackers, Kedem vanilla tea bisccuis, and finished a Lindt dark choc/orage bar
I'll do chicken tikka masala tonight.

8. Went to see the new King Kong x Godzilla movie this afternoon

After all the popcorn, my appetite is pretty well nil. So, I guess later on I'm just going to have some creamy tomato soup and half a ham sandwich.

10. Pan-seared (then baked) thick pork chops and

vegetable casserole (brown rice, green beans, mushrooms, broccoli, and cauliflower).

14. pork roast + gravy + baked potato. my cousin said mashed is diabetes potatos.
