Stir-fry vegetables and crispy tofu squares. The veggies are red and green peppers, snow peas, cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, scallions, carrots. I used honey-orange sauce that I made a few days ago because I made some extra for an occasion like this.

Kombucha is snickerdoodle flavor. Has cinnamon and vanilla in it.

Dessert: sliced apple and cut up mint. Dark Chinese tea.

1. Black-out party!

In anticipation of tomorrow’s eclipse, we’re hosting a little get-together for a theme party.

The food as a buffet has to have a references to darkness:

Black Forrest ham
Black olives
Black berries
Black seedless grapes
Black beans and rice
Cole slaw with dark food coloring
Johnny Walker Black
Pumpernickel bread
Black lumpfish caviar with all the fixings

My son and his friends are here but they’ll leave early in the morning to drive to the NY State Park at Mexico Point where they hope to see the total eclipse.

as tried new Korean place just now; ate in, and brought a bunch of things home, including seafood pancake; more to try later, like chicken bbq something.

DARN, all DISAPPOINTING, so sent friend home with it all, so I may have Denver Just Break and Egg, toast, and ice cream for dessert; something chocolate too.

We just watched the Iowa Hawkeyes lose to South Carolina. It was the Hawks' best chance at the title for years ....

With a little butter and olive oil, slivers of garlic, a pinch of red pepper flakes, and a spoonful of anchovy paste. Yum!

made with the leftover pork-chops from last week and some fresh garlic I got at the farmers' market yesterday, along with dry braised string beans and rice.

We went to visit Al's sister who lives in assisted living about an hour away. We took her out to dinner, and pizza was what she requested.
