Will this work?

I want to make a banana cream pie using what I have on hand. I want to use ground up animal crackers for the crust and vanilla cook and serve pudding with sliced bananas on top and then of course whipped cream will this work or would the pudding turn to water? I've got cream cheese on hand if I should just do cheese cake kind of deal.

I recall reading on the pudding box to reduce the amount of milk by 1/4 C for pie filling. Arkansas Granny Jul 2024 #7

but used graham crackers crushed with a little butter... and when cooking the pudding would either reduce the amount of milk to add or make sure to serve the banana cream pie refrigerated because once it warms up... it won't hold any shape when you slice it.

This was on the standard size box using 2 C of milk.

when in doubt for a dessert just at a bit more sugar, some nutmeg, and a couple of drops of vanilla extract.

and whipped cream. My only caveat would be with the animal crackers, which can tend to be a bit dry and bland. You might need to experiment a little to end up with a crumb crust that doesn't taste like sawdust.
